Your support should adapt as your needs change
One of the most overlooked aspects of support is flexibility. Your needs will very likely change over time. What works well today may not be enough, or might even be too much, later.
The real secret is this, support should evolve alongside your needs.
This might mean increasing help in one area, or reducing it in another; adjusting schedules, and introducing new types of support.
When support is static, it quickly becomes mismatched.
Regular review keeps things aligned.
The fix
We have a couple of procedures in place to make sure we stay on top of things for you.
My Guardian carers are trained to be on the lookout for any signs that your level of care needs to be elevated or changed.
Also, every few months we call our clients for a quick, what we call a “well-being”, chat. On top of that there is a yearly Care Plan Review to go over whether or not your current package is adequate.
The good news is, you don’t have to do anything except talk to us about how things are going. If a level upgrade is required, we handle the paperwork, the admin and the processing through My Aged Care.
The goal is not to lock in services.
It’s to keep life working well.
