SECRET #17

The right support should feel like less to think about

One of the biggest concerns many have about support is complexity.

More services. More schedules. More people involved.

But the real goal of support is the opposite. The right support should reduce your mental load, not add to it.

It should mean you have fewer things to organise, fewer tasks to remember and fewer worries about whether things are being handled correctly.

When support is working well, it feels almost invisible.

Things get done.
Life flows more easily.
There is less to keep track of.

If support creates confusion – missed visits, unclear communication, too many moving parts, it quickly becomes a source of stress.

A sure sign something needs adjusting.

The fix

At the end of the week, ask: Did my support make things simpler? If the answer is no, something should change.

The right support should feel almost invisible in the best possible way. You shouldn’t have to think about who’s arriving, when they’re coming, or whether they understand your needs.

It should be consistent. Predictable.

Good support is not measured by how much is provided. It is measured by how much easier life feels.
