A New Era of Home Care: Support at Home 2025
From 1 July 2025, the Australian Government’s Support at Home Program will bring greater flexibility, funding, and simplicity to aged care. It’s designed to give older Australians more control and quicker access to the help they need whether that’s personal care, nursing, home modifications, or transport.
Under this new program:
- The maximum annual funding will increase from $61,000 to $78,000, giving more people access to quality in-home care.
- Wait times will be reduced aiming for approvals within just three months.
- There’ll be better access to assistive technology and home modifications, helping prevent falls and promote independence.
- And for those nearing the end of life, a new End-of-Life Care Pathway will provide up to $25,000 to ensure dignity and comfort at home.
