SECRET #18
You don’t need more services, you need the right ones
When you’re first exploring support, the instinct is often to look broadly – “What services are available?”
Adding too many services too quickly can feel overwhelming.
The secret is to start with your pressure points. What tasks consistently feel hardest? What gets delayed or avoided? What creates the most effort or stress?
An overwhelming quantity of services can tend to disrupt routines and actually decrease your independence.
The fix
A more targeted support, that addresses the most significant pressure points (as designed by one of My Guardian’s Registered Nurses), is more likely to allow you to live well at home for longer.
For instance, you may be having issues with cleaning, meal preparation, transport, or personal care.
Targeting these areas first creates immediate relief. And it builds confidence in the process.
But the right targeted support makes a noticeable difference straight away.
Support works best when it is precise.
